Gaining PP Status
Whickham Villa benefits from Preferred Provider Status with the MS Society. Being a prefferred provider brings a number of benefits to users of our service.
In order to be awarded Prefferd Provider Status the MS Society sends an evaluation team to visit and assess the service against the Preferred Provider standards.
Part of the assessment includes consideration of satisfaction surveys and interviews with the service users as well as the views of local branches.

Preferred Provider services are expected to make a commitment to providing ongoing training in MS for staff.
Each Service is reassessed every three years to demonstrate that it continues to meet the Preffered Provider standards. The service has to show continuous development in MS knowledge, as well as increasing use of its respite service by people with MS.
