Floatation Tank
The Healthclub houses a state of the art,
therapeutic floatation tank in a fully accessible
environment.
Floatation tanks contain body temperature water at a depth
of 25cm, treated with a high concentration of Epsom Salts.
This produces a density allowing the individual to float
naturally and spontaneously without effort. The floater has a
sense of weightlessness and deep relaxation.
You don't actually 'do' anything in the tank, you just let
your mind wander and your body enjoy the experience! Maybe
you'll even fall asleep. There is no risk of turning over in
the tank, leading to a completely safe and relaxing
experience.
Sessions normally last up to an hour, and can be supervised
or unsupervised depending on requirements. Time seems to fly
by very quickly while you are floating and most people find it
hard to believe they have floated for an hour!
Benefits of floatation include:
- Relieves stress, nervousness, anxiety
- Alleviates insomnia and jetlag
- Improves your concentration and memory.
- Gives you extra energy and makes you feel dynamic.
- Many people use floatation to stimulate creative
thinking and to solve problems or for mental preparation for
work, academic or sporting challenges.
There are many medical conditions which have
been shown to benefit from floatation therapy such as:
- Chronic pain conditions
- Muscular aches and pains
- Cardio-vascular conditions
- Arthritic and rheumatic conditions
- Psychological and emotional conditions
- Addictive conditions
- Immune-suppressed conditions
- Digestive tract conditions
