Current Facilities / Living Environment

The current services at Whickham Villa are provided from 3 separate facilities located within our two-acre site.

Chase Part Rehabilitation Unit provides 28 single bedrooms (including a dedicated respite room) and an array general communal living spaces and facilities for people aged 18 and over. Two transitional living apartments provide individuals with a pathway to more independent living with their own ‘front door’, kitchenette and en suite bathroom. Within the facility our clients and team utilise our Accessible Kitchen to stimulate client’s senses and re-learn every day skills. The facility provides ceiling track hoisting systems, hydraulic bathing equipment, tilt tables and a vast array of specialised and specific equipment to meet all the clinical, therapeutic and rehabilitative needs of each individual client.

Millfield House Care Home provides 39 beds with many general living spaces and facilities for adults in their later years. A vast array of specialised and specific equipment is provided to meet all the clinical, therapeutic and rehabilitative needs of each individual client.

Whickham Villa Healthclub has been designed specifically with the needs of those with physical, perceptual, visual and cognitive disabilities in mind, in an extremely high quality environment. Visiting The Healthclub feels like the kind of treat experienced when staying in a 5-star hotel, relaxing in a trendy high street coffee bar or chilling out and being pampered in a spa facility - the only difference is that the environment is truly enabling thanks to careful design and planning.

The facilities include:

• Internet café
• Gymnasium
• Lounge
• Hairdressing
• Spa
• Floatation tank
• Hydrotherapy pool
• A range of changing facilities
• Sensory gardens
• Therapy studio
